Dr Jennifer Scarth, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist

Jennifer graduated from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1993 and then progressed to Paediatric training rotations throughout the Northern Region. She commenced her PICU training in Newcastle culminating in a year as an ECMO Fellow at Freeman Hospital. She continued PICU training at RHSC Yorkhill in Glasgow including paediatric anaesthesia and completed an 18 month Fellowship in Vancouver before taking up my current post as Consultant Paediatric Intensivist at RHSC Glasgow in August 2004. She was Clinical Lead for PICU from 2009-2012.

Jennifer has an interest in Medical Education including the use of mid-fidelity simulation in the hospital and pre-hospital setting and she is the ICTPICM Educational Supervisor for the West of Scotland responsible junior doctors training in the PICU Grid programme. She is also interested in medical information technology and helped to develop the current Clinical Information System in PICU.
